Memories of Development is a multi-part project that investigates the psychological and cultural legacy of Latin America’s "third world" status through performance, video, and photography. Using my childhood photo album and memories of growing up in Guayaquil, Ecuador as an entry point, the project examines the complexities of racial identification in a Mestizo country from my unique perspective as a North American of Afro-Ecuadorean ancestry.
